Семинар "MSU and EF Research Collaboration Enhancing Language Learning and Teaching"

1 октября на факультете состоялся научно-практический семинар "MSU and EF Research Collaboration Enhancing Language Learning and Teaching".

Семинар провели:

• Факультет иностранных языков и регионоведения МГУ имени М.В. Ломоносова,
  
• образовательная компания EF Education First.

В семинаре приняли участие студенты 4-5 курсов, аспиранты и преподаватели, интересующихся методикой преподавания иностранных языков.

Целью семинара было представить основные направления преподавательской и исследовательской деятельности EF и ФИЯР и определить пути научного сотрудничества с использованием программ, данных и эмпирического материала EF.

На семинаре выступили:

• Prof. Dr. Svetlana Grigorievna Ter-Minasova, President of FFLAS: The future of EF-MSU Research Collaboration;
• Dr Christopher McCormick, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, EF Education First (based in Zurich): Overview of EF worldwide and major areas of operations and investigation;
• Prof. Dr. Elena Nikolaevna Solovova, Head of Language Testing Laboratory at FFLAS: Major areas of research interest for FFLAS faculty and students (language teaching);
• Dr. Bernard Shearer, Head of English First in Russia (based in Moscow): Overview of English First and discussion of the different initiatives for teaching a variety of populations (young learners, teenagers, government, Olympics, etc.);
• Dr. Svetlana Shulzhik, Senior Academic Operations Manager for English First (based in Moscow): Orientation to English First in Russia and our teaching operations, product development, and learner profiles;
• Dr. Rachel Baker, Director of Applied Linguistics Research and Development, EF Language Solutions (based in London): Introduction to EF’s research initiatives and current projects underway at the EF Research Unit at the University of Cambridge, including a review of the EF-Cambridge Open English Learner Corpus, an innovative tool for analyzing high volume English learner language.
